NARRA provides a timing transponder (dbComm) for each vehicle but is not required. This allows us to grid the cars in order of speed to help reduce passing. Passing is controlled by enforcing passing zones and requiring a point by.
There are 4 run groups determined by the driver’s experience and designated by color.
Green is the beginner group. Blue is the intermediate group, and White is the advanced group. Red is our Race group.
Passing zones are designated with YES and NO signs. YES signs are placed at the beginning of a designated straightaway and NO signs are placed at the end of the passing zone, prior to the corner. YES you can pass, NO you can’t pass. All passes should be made in passing zones with a point by from the car being passed. There is no passing allowed in a NO zone except during the white or advanced group where passing is open with a point. We don’t want surprises! The Red Race group is a typical open passing race group.
Car classes are determined by car modifications at Tech.
